Jobs for nursing students?

I'm in my 2nd semester at SFSU, in the MSN program. I know that after this semester, we'll be able to work in a 'nursing assistant' capacity, but I think these jobs are all called different things in different facilities. At UCSF, where I'm doing my clinical rotation this semester, they're called PCAs, but they don't actually do any patient care. I believe it's the same name at General, but I'm not sure.

Can any of you with more experience clue me in? I'd like to start looking for jobs a little ahead of time, and I'd love to start working as soon as my semester ends. Being a poor student stinks!
